Disappointment Falls
Matthew climbs along the network of log ladders below Disappointment Falls (above, left), and later, Rory enjoys the view below the falls (above, right). The name reflects our disapointment upon reaching this spot on the 2004 trip, only to discover that this was not Apparition Falls, and the final approach was in question. The falls (below) is buried in a recent avalanche of fallen trees, adding to the immense pile of debris that obscures much of this pretty waterfall. From here, the path departs from the 2004 route, and instead follows the left edge of the falls into the "Little Gorge", immediately above Disappointment Falls.
