From the base of Apparition Falls, the route took a strenuous turn due to our decision not to attempt a return through the "Little Gorge". Instead, the only alternative route was to climb directly up the steep east slope of Cast Creek canyon, with the help of vine maple branches and roots as handholds, and locate our route from the 2004 trip. From the top of the bluffs, the group took in new vantage point of the falls (above) where it appears to emerge from nowhere to cascade down the cliffs. Here, Greg sets up a photo shoot as Jon looks on.
