Shortly after the first crossing, the route entered an especially lush section of canyon that was lined with hundreds of white trilliums, one of the earliest flowers to bloom in spring, and perhaps the most regal of our forest flowers. In this stretch, the creek drops over tiny "Trillium Falls," framed by mossy, low cliffs. While Todd and Randy captured the beauty of the scene, we looked ahead for landmarks, including a couple of tall snags, that would help us chart our progress toward Apparition Falls.
