Salmon River Gorge
April 1983 Expedition
Final Falls
Another close-up view of Final
Falls showing the large cavern and splash pool below the falls.
This view also shows why Final Falls dramatically forms the upper
extent for chinook and steelhead that spawn in the Salmon River.
From this point, fish populations in the upstream reaches of
the Salmon are limited to native trout species.
From this viewpoint, the group
began a traverse across the open cliffs to the left of the falls
to a viewpoint of Frustration Falls, located roughly 200 yards
above Final Falls.
