First, the disappointing news. While
we were able to locate the brink of Dave Falls easily, there
was no easy passage around this falls, which meant that we would
not be able to find "Maynard's Cave" on this outing.
Matthew scouted the cliffs to the right (west) for a route, while
Ted climbed high on the slope to the right. Both encountered
sheer terrain that we weren't ready to tackle. The left (east)
side of the canyon was plainly impassable, and we wondered how
Maynard Drawson and his friend Jerry negotiated had this spot. |
