Nervous about the low water, we quickly
picked up where we left off in June 2002, retracing our steps
up the Ogle Mountain Trail to the point where we had climbed
out of Henline Canyon (Matthew is marking the spot below the
rock outcrop, in the image on the left). Our goal on this trip
was to visit the remaining three falls that we had been unable
to reach in 2002. The original plan was to simply drop down at
our exit point, and attempt to work our way upstream -- hopefully
finding the illusive "Maynard's Cave" in the process.
But as we scouted further ahead on the Ogle Mountain trail, we
found an unmapped trail (below, right) that dropped to Henline
Creek in an easy descent. |
