You will have
to squint at this photo a bit to appreciate the content. This
is the final cliff along the Eagle Creek Trail, before the route
enters deep woods and climbs to Wahtum Lake. Look closely, and
you can see a backpacker making his way around the bend, with
a drop of nearly 200 feet below. In the shadows is a narrow slot
canyon, where the Indian Ridge fork of Eagle Creek catapults
down Twister Falls (next page), easily the most vertigo-inducing
drop along the trail. |
