Just a few
hundred feet past Loowit Falls, the trail approaches High Bridge,
a narrow steel span hanging precariously over a 90-foot gorge
that is no more than 30 feet wide. Like other bridges on the
trail, this span has a see-through tread, making the sense of
exposure even more acute.
From this
point forward, the periodic exposure along the trail is increasingly
lofty, so this is a good turnaround point for those with virtigo
or just a faint heart! High Bridge can be seen in the distance
in this photo, among the trees.
