Somewhere in the Tracy Arm, the Wilderness Adventurer was damaged by ice, and began to take on water. The Captain radioed a nearby charter boat and evacuated the ship as a precautionary measure. In the scene above, crew members Sean and Stephanie and passenger Craig (who appear to be making a pact with their maker?) ride in the back of the recue boat as we leave the Adventurer behind in our unexpected trip to Juneau (below, as seen in the approach). Later, passengers and crew were interviewed by Coast Guard officers in Juneau as a part of a standard investigation, though all praised the skill and caution used by the Captain in navigating the ice floes of the Tracy Arm. The story made the Juneau newspapers and local news broadcasts.
